Easyorder is a subscription service providing small local business owners with easy to use tools for setting up an e-commerce website and app.
Ghent-based production studio Spotsonline had previously worked on live action case studies of specific Easyorder users. For a more general and accessible outline of what the service has to offer, plans were made for a short dynamic animated explainer.
Spotsonline and the Nelson Group agency provided us with an outline of the content of the video. They opted for a recognizable flat vector style, themed around the orange Easyorder logo as a cartoon character.
Our character and asset designs started from the simple geometric shapes of which the logo consisted. An original version was inspired by whimsical mid-20th-century childrens’ books (the modernist minimalism blending in nicely with contemporary vector icons). For the final version slight adjustments were made to allow for more eye-expressions, as well as fresher color schemes.
